GIF day
Finally another GIF day!
It's simple animation loops which really make me smile and i feel rather happy about the fact that I've been able to do something teensie at least!
Work has been taking up loads and loads of time and as usual, my 'spidey senses start tingling' and i feel like i really need to utilize my time to the max!
Here's to hoping that being tied down with work will increase my productivity! yes yes!

Odd comic ideas
Ever since Starbucks entered the Indian market, i find myself being drawn to the siren cups every time I'm in the vicinity of one or I'm feeling a little fancy.
It really doesn't taste awesome, or maybe I'm not good at coffee. It'll always be a mystery because the whole world seems to have good things to say about Starbucks.
I'm not sure why we're all drawn to it. The shortage of money due to the pocket heavy coffee drinks left me feeling like there was a fault in our (mine perhaps?) "star" bucks... or maybe it's just me.
The comic was a result of me pondering over the few morsels of money left in my wallet and the need to go grab that mocha frappuchino.

GIF day
jiggy cookie |
Trying to keep up with my GIF inputs on this blog. Work takes up so much time that it becomes impossible to be able to complete one per day!
I feel this inability to work on something everyday gives me more motivation to actually do something whenever i get the time.

GIF scenes
Keeping in mind my last post, this one is basically skimming on the surface of the '14 days leading upto 100 days ' idea.
Work has gotten busy in the good sense so creating GIFs on the side does certainly seem rather daunting as compared to my situation about a month ago.
Nonetheless, today's GIF is one i've stalled for a while now, constantly deleting keyframes because of confusion randomly sprouting due to the increasing workload. But it's finally done and i'm happy about it.

Contemplating a 100 day thing
It so happens that today was one of those days where i end up discovering something which'll probably have me hooked for a while. Until i fail at it miserably or it reaches a sense of saturation.
This discovery happens to be something so insignificant that i can't believe i did not try it myself!
I'll cut to the meaty part, so it's basically using illustrator to create a character whose attributes are sectioned into layers. Now importing this project file into After Effects and manipulating the layers to create a desirable movement.
You can find the video i referenced here! colourful language has been used... ALOT!
Now coming to the contemplating part, there have been the hashtags going about regarding a 100 day challenge or so and i'm not sure if i should do it.
Perhaps start with 14 days and move up? Step by step might seem less daunting.
Lets see how the days progress!

The mandatory AE post
Running low on Mt. Mograph, with a heavy heart i started looking for other tutorials.
I found myself able to throw sentimental and comfort value aside while i discovered a treasure chest of wonderful tutorials!
Today i tried one from Video Co-Pilot! I find that the more i delve into the software, it give me enough reasons to keep digging for more.
I've honestly never had this much fun in just the act of learning something, the last i can remember is when i was adamantly learning photoshop while in 10th grade.

Summit 38
The weekend which passed was Comic Con Bangalore weekend for me and possibly one of the better weekends i've had since coming here. In all the rush, updating obviously did not take place and neither did rendering the summit happen as planned.
I'll keep this post limited to just the summit as the weekend definitely needs better coverage!
Speaking of the summit, personally it was one of the harder ones, or maybe confusing ones because i did lose track at many points which led to me writing down after effect tips in my small notebook.
I keep going back to the notebook when i fear that i've forgotten what i learnt.
The output i managed isn't exactly (there's a big jump right there when the flap unfolds) as smooth towards the end fold as was shown in the tutorial but i'll leave that for another day.

Late night explorations- finished!
Long overdue! I've finally managed to finish of my experiment with the Japanese crochet charts!
Definitely not one of my favourite pieces, but a very dear one mainly because i actually managed to pull through the whole pattern and learnt how to read the crochet chart as well.
I've already started a ginger version of the cat using the same 2.5mm hook which i used for this one. And in other news, i found and ordered 'Ami Ami Dogs- seriously cute crochet by Mitsuki Hoshi'. i know there are a gazillion pages which are offering the PDF as a free download but at the end of the day, i just wanted to give back to this craft which has had me enamored for so very long! And honestly, i'm a sucker for books and i might just have a problem as far as accumulating books are concerned ;)
Thanks for reading!

Summit 27
Today's attempted summit took a while because of how busy the weekend got!
One of the more 'peaceful' summits, outcome being very serene and sorted. Graph editor wise it was a boon! I cannot stress how terrible i was at graph editor, even looking at it gave me the shivers but this summit was right in my face like -BAM- there's a whole new world out there and you just need that damned graph editor.
Either way, here's my output!

late night explorations
The first time i saw Japanese 'Amigurumi' i was amazed with the sort of intricate patterns that the artists followed! It was beyond my understanding at that time and i couldn't understand how anyone could read such charts.
So today(night rather) i finally attempted to understand how exactly one can read these patterns and i must confess that i was successfully able to translate as well as crochet the pattern!

noting down the pattern in simple form! |
Aren't they precious! |
The ever so intimidating chart! Many thanks to 'TODOAMIGURUMI' for the pattern resources Find the whole book here! More updates later as i translate the rest of the pattern. For translating purposes i followed a very simple guide posted by 'aspettame' on 'we love amigurumi' |
looking forward to finish my first authentic Japanese pattern!

Summit 57
I think these sort of updates will be a regular until i'm through with most of the Mt. Mograph tutorials.
Again, this one was a sweet and easy one and extremely fun to work with (the challenging videos are DEFINITELY more fun, no doubt about that)
So here are my outcome GIFs.

A quick one by Mt. Mograph! Loved the simplicity of this one and it's extremely satisfying as well as easy!

Summit 7
Summit 7, because it simply is a wonderful feeling to be able to do 'cool' stuff!
Once again, all credit to Mt. Mograph. I'm starting to be able to multi task as i just listen to the voice while making the actions on After Effects. Though i do go back ever so often to re-check on what he's doing in the video.
Summit 7 was particularly fun since it was open ended and it sort of forced me to explore on my part.

Summit 6
Perhaps i should title this as Summit 2 or 1.2, Mt. Mograph's video title itself compels me to make it summit six.
I've really been enjoying working on After Effects with his tutorials and i plan to do as many AE ones as possible! And perhaps move on to do some of the CInema 4D ones as well!

Summit 1.1
A few days ago i discovered Mt. Mograph's you tube channel, personally it was almost like unearthing a treasure chest. Now this treasure chest in particular was something which would help me grasp Adobe After Effects much better.
I can say that the whole process was wonderful and i'll definitely be trying as much as i can possibly grasp.
Here's to Mt. Mograph and his wonderful summits.

Valentine Cats
Valentine Cats |
Here's a little something something for all you cat lovers out there!
They're a set of cat illustrations made during that special valentines countdown period.
Personally i've never eaten a sweet heart with a message on it, this will remain a valentine mystery for me until it finds it's way into Indian territory, until then i'll stick to drawing them out!
