Chitrakatha 2013 and a Happy new year to you!

More like a catching up post right here. I think i'll call the next post an official 'new year' post. One thing i must talk about as of now is our student animation film festival 'Chitrakatha'.

I've been wanting to talk about how pleasant the weather and the overall atmosphere of the festival was! I had a good time and was left inspired at the end of the day. Now...

"There's always a lighthouse, a man, a city."

It's been around 2 months (i guess) since i finished  Bioshock Infinite. The game still hasn't left me and after a point i started looking for the game's music to help me get over with the withdrawal i had because of the wonderful audio sensory experience i had encountered.
Most of my characters have been ending up with Elizabeth-esque hair and roses have been floating around in my head just waiting to be used as embellishments for an illustration.

Bioshock has been one of those games which has stuck with me. It's been the first to be that way with me after the Elder Scrolls.

Drawing Elizabeth was something i've been wanting to do for a while now.

Sweater weather

My favourite season is winter. Mainly because i enjoy feeling like a ball of fuzz and the mere thought of hot tea gives me tremendous goosebumps. There is much to update and talk about for the month of October which really needs much more time than i am devoting for this little update post.

Title specific, I've been listening to the song 'Sweater Weather' by 'The Neighbourhood' for the longest time now. Just felt like randomly doodling a prom-ish sort of thing since winters are meant for cozy dancing with significant others. I guess i'll take the liberty to make up all sort of random prom fantasies because India doesn't really have that sort of stuff, i think the closest we got to prom was a 'school conti' better left unspoken, no fancy fruit punch or glittery princess like entrances. It's a rather drab affair.

and some more doodle work

and one more, until the next post

I'll be talking about our animation festival "Chitrakatha" next time.
So excuse me while i forage for some photographs to share with you :)

Aaand we're BACK!

Dear blog, i believe i can be excused for the past month due to my untimely accident, so here's finally finishing what i started last year.

Day 30. Celebrate Monster Girls!

I guess i can't imagine celebrating with the girls, just a state of mind as of now. I'll probably think twice before taking up another 30 day challenge. But if and when i do, i'll make sure i finish it on time as well as make sure that this very promise does not get broken.

Dear blog, i know this is unforgivable but please take this small update on the 30 day challenge (now beyond 30) as a token of my utter feeling of guilt regarding blog updates.

Just for fun before i finally finish the challenge tomorrow!

Day 29. A Monster Girl and Her Significant Other

I'm not following any particular order now -ahem- it's about getting it done and nicely! This one's most certainly and definitely inspired by the art of Tracy JB of 'The Lackadaisy Cats' fame. She knows how to put those cats down real good!

Day 28. A Group of Monster Girls Together

Trying to stick to the spirit of October (at least to how it is in my head-basically spells out Halloween and spooky everything-)

Day 27. A Truly Gruesome Girl

Day 26. Favorite Monster Girl Character

I've got to admit that when i made insect girl, i was overwhelmed by how cute it turned out and I've been the happiest with that drawing! Just needed an excuse to drawn a revamped version of her.

COMIC CON 2013

yes this is sorceress

I've been dreaming of cosplaying on the streets of Japan since forever, then Comic con India came along. This year i finally managed to make a cosplay for myself! And for the first time in ages, i was terribly excited and anxious to walk around in a precious set of clothes which i will treasure forever.

My 30 day challenge had to be put at a big BIG standstill as i tried to figure out a way to make the costume. So now lets get down to nitty gritties! He-Man and the masters of the universe 2002 was my area. And it was the sorceress i was eyeing!

I realized that it would be a wise thing to probably start a new post for this year and continue with the rest of the monster girls.
I've put up the remainder of the list upside down, and it'll be easier to update!
And some Christmas guinea pig animation after this bunch is done :)

Sweet November....NOT! -bring on the monster girls!-

Hello hello blog!
It's been a tough November i say! I've had a tough time finding my way home from college a midst Diwali celebrations and soaring air fares.

And this lack of inspiration isn't helping either..

Here's one i just made, sort of messing around and not being to hard on that head which is desperately thinking about my classroom project(more on that later)

As for some other interesting discoveries in my uninspired state
I came across a 30 day monster girl challenge here

A helpful list for easy updating!

30 DAY MONSTER GIRL CHALLENGE

Day 1. Harpy
27th November

Now this mythical creature has its roots in Greek Mythology, the name literally mean "to snatch". So here's my take for the 30 day challenge! You should definitely check out "HARPYA" by 'Raoul Servais' it always sends shivers down my spine!

Day 2. Centaur
27th November

Centaurs! Fantasia anybody? It probably has the best animated bunch of harmonized centaurs that I've seen.

Day 3. Slime
28th November

I was staring with awe at all those photographs in the newspaper of the Algae bloom across many popular beaches in Sydney, that red was rather scary no?

Day 4. Naga
30th November

Electricity is a major problem around here, and as the storm caught pace the electricity disappeared and i was left with a half charged laptop and a half done challenge. Either way, here is the Naga Kanya, daughter of The Nagarajas. Snakes give me the creeps and i always like to imagine them with pouty upper lips in order to lessen the trauma i receive every time i come across a snake charmer on the road.
